Blood Source
Since our founding in 1948, BloodSource has been collecting blood donations and providing lifesaving blood products to our communities and beyond. We are committed to doing what’s right, a simple philosophy that has helped us grow from a single blood bank beneath a water tower in Sacramento to one of the premier blood centers in the world. Thanks to the generosity of donors throughout Northern and Central California, we are the source of nearly every drop of blood used in over 40 hospitals in the region. BloodSource donors from Merced to the Oregon border, from Solano County east to Lake Tahoe, are a lifesaving source close to home and across the nation to help other blood centers unable to go it alone.
California Dental Association Foundation
CDA Cares, the CDA Foundation’s volunteer dental program, provides dental services at no charge to Californians who experience barriers to care (including lack of dental benefit, education and language access), educates the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and the need for an adequately funded dental safety net, which includes a well-functioning Denti-Cal program.
KINDS IN NEED OF DEFENSE
KIND serves as the leading organization for the protection of children who enter the U.S. immigration system alone and strives to ensure that no such child appears in immigration court without representation. We achieve fundamental fairness through high-quality legal representation and by advancing the child’s best interests, safety, and well-being.
KIND partners with major law firms, corporations, law schools, and bar associations to create a nationwide pro-bono network to represent unaccompanied children through their immigration proceedings.
Northern California Translators Associations
The NCTA is a non-profit organization that assists northern California communities in finding language professionals for their translation and interpretation needs. It also assists translators and interpreters with their profession through continuing education and networking events, provides guidance to those entering the field, and furthers the profession in terms of standards and public recognition. NCTA has been serving the T&I community since 1978 through the active participation of its more than 550 members worldwide.
Global Voices
Global Voices is a borderless, largely volunteer community of more than 800 writers, analysts, online media experts, and translators. Many of the world’s most interesting and important stories aren’t in just one place. Sometimes they’re scattered in bits and pieces across the Internet, in blog posts and tweets, and in multiple languages. These are the stories we accurately report on Global Voices—and translate into up to 40 languages, including Malagasy, Bangla, and Aymara.
